So my mom tried something new with my son this weekend. Our ADHD’er.
AND. IT. WAS. AWESOME.
First, she gave him $1. Then, my mom told him he could not use the words “Can or I.”
Every time he used them, he lost a dime. Beyond the immediate benefit of him not being able to ask for everything he saw, the best benefit was that he really had to slow his brain down and think about what he wanted to say.
Sometimes we literally saw steam come out out his ears – he was focusing so much trying to put his words together.
Truly, it was like a puzzle for him. :-). So cool. Thanks mom.
